Meet at Beacon Hill car park, just to the east of the A34 about 6 miles south of Newbury (SU463,576). From M4 Junct 13 take A34 south to Burghclere. Then take the minor road signed to Beacon Hill and just before it re-joins the A34, turn right over the bridge, turn left, and park 30 yards down the road on the left hand side.

The highlight of the ramble is a walk over Watership Down where there are outstanding views across the surrounding countryside.
