From M4 J15 take the A346 south towards Marlborough for 4½ miles; take slip road, turn right under bridge into Copse Drove, then turn right into High St and continue for ¾ mile to Church Lane. First section of Ridgeway (linear) walk. Car shuttle to start of walk. Bring packed lunch and drinks for the day. Pass entrance to Tesco on right then take the first turning to the right, which is Frogmore Lane. Cross the canal by hump backed bridge and park in car park on the left. This is a linear walk with car shuffle to the start. We will walk through the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty passing several sites of historical interest. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks for the day as there is no pub at the half way point.

The B4000 has a right turn before Lambourn and LH and RH turns in Lambourn. Second section of Ridgeway (linear) walk. Car shuttle to start of walk. Bring packed lunch and drinks for the day. FromStreatley, turn left about a mile after the Rowstock roundabout to East Hendred, then follow the road as far as the parish church, where we meet. Lunch is at Smith's tea shop in Ardington (SU432,885)(marked as the post office on the map). 3 miles in the morning, and 6 miles in the afternoon, so it is an early lunch. There is also a 3 mile easy option in the afternoon.

Take the first left at the crossroads, and after approx 1½ miles take the first right sign posted to Penn Street. As you come to the T-Junction bear left and The Squirrel Pub is on the right and the green opposite.

Figure of eight walk with lunch in this spacious pub which serves very good food. Optional tea stop at pub afterwards. The walk will include some ancient commonland, the Basingstoke Canal, the famous Brookwood Cemetary and the story of how Woking came to be!!

Meet at the car park on the opposite side of the road (Puttenham Hill) to the Jolly Farmer pub and car park in Puttenham (SU933,479). From Guildford take the A31 and turn left onto the B3000. Car park is on left shortly before junction of Puttenham Heath Road and Hook Lane.
Pub lunch is available at the Good Intent pub in Puttenham (SU 932 478), about ½ mile from car park. This a figure of eight walk.

Meet in free public car park adjoining Kings Hotel, Stokenchurch (HP14 3TA), (SU 760 963). Lunch will be taken at the Fox & Hounds, Christmas Common (SU 714 933). This is a good walk with some quite noticeable hills and lots of red kites at close quarters.
