At next triangular roundabout, still A340, turn right and then left at traffic lights, Silchester Road. After 1½ miles at T junction, turn right and left. This circular walk follows the Kennet & Avon Canal, and provides fine views over the wide Kennet Valley. Lunch at The Spring Inn (SU 623, 695) (RG7 5HP) which serves a wide variety of dishes.
